Ricardo Santaella, M.D. is a native of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and obtained his Bachelors in Science in Biology from Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia in 2000. He obtained his Medical Degree from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas in 2004. He completed his ophthalmology residency training at the Casey Eye Institute of Oregon Health and Science University, Portland, Oregon in 2008. He is currently undergoing his fellowship training in Cornea, Anterior Segment, and Refractive Surgery at the Duke University Eye Center, Durham, North Carolina, under the guidance of Dr. Natalie Afshari, Dr. Terry Kim, and Dr. Alan Carlson.
