About the Presenter:
Liliana Werner, MD, PhD is Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the John A. Moran Eye Center, University of Utah, and from 2006 to 2008 was also Director of Pre-Clinical Research of the Berlin Eye Research Institute, in Germany. She has a MD degree from Brazil, and a PhD degree (Biomaterials) from France. She is the 2003 Research to Prevent Blindness Olga Keith Wiess Scholar awardee, member of the Editorial Board of the JCRS and the EyeWorld magazine, member of the International Intra-Ocular Implant Club, member of the Continuing Medical Education Advisory Committee of the ASCRS, and member of the Cataract Subcommittee of the AAO Annual Meeting Program Committee. She authored more than 250 peer-reviewed articles and chapters on the subject of intraocular lenses and other ocular implantable biodevices, and received numerous awards for her scientific work in international meetings around the world.
